HOOTERS AND HONKERS(page nine) |
Tasty Links by Minerva Invicta HOOTERS AND HONKERS was supposed to be published on the first of March, but the phone was unplugged and we were unable to find two Dixie cups and a string which would handle the FTP protocol. Better late than never, this edition goes to press on 9 April. The scheduled April edition will be live by May. The articles, stories and poetry all relate to cars and racing - with just enough pulchritude and femininity to give us licence to wind Ernie up with the HOOTERS part of the title. We've got NASCAR (G.S.), Formula ONE (I.B.), racing the wind (C.C.), nostalgia tripping (B.A.) and the female mechanic (T.J.). Let's back that up with some links on all of the above. Thanks, Bob Arter. Don't take us too seriously - we're having fun and so should you. 2023 UPDATE: Tasty Links do not fare well over time and we usually just skip them for the archive. But since this issue seems to want to stay complete, I will list the names of the links that existed at the time (most are dead). All URLs have been removed. Gazette Favorites: Tonya Judy's Flush Fiction Magazine is still in its fifth month of publication (somebody go give it a kickstart), mirroring the lifestyle of its editor. Teejay brought us this issue live from Vermont. (Our copy editor, Blind Carbon Copy, unfolds more 'history' in the February edition.) The March edition should be up one of these days, and rumor has it the zine is in for a name change soon. We are still wowed by Literary Potpourri an electronic literary journal, featuring quality short stories, poetry, flash, essays, photography and book reviews which is edited by Beverly Jackson, Mary McCluskey and William Coleman. Anna Sidak's Zoe News is currently on hiatus while its editor dips her toes in matrimonial waters. So you don't miss its return, we recommend that you become a member of Francis Ford Coppola's Zoetrope Virtual Studio if you aren't one already. Besides, we'd think it is a site worth joining for anyone serious about workshopping flash fiction, short stories, novellas, screenplays and poetry, even if it wasn't the home of Sidak's Zoe News. back to the front page |
