NOVELLAS COUNTY GAZETTE
7 November 2001
(The Infamous Cross-Dressing Issue)

Novellas County, where some of the folks really are from Venus and Mars and brain sex probably means she'll just have to think about it. Novellas County, where fashion consciousness is so undeveloped, cross-dressing often goes unnoticed. Novellas County—uh, yeah.

WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS,
MEN ARE WRONG
by Ernie 'Junior' Hemingway

The only thing that's kept me alive (and unmarried) in the brain sex war is unconditional surrender in each and every battle. Hey, I'm the last person to argue with the view of feature writer, Linda M. Donovan, that there are major differences in the male and female brain. The question remains whether all of these male and female brains are in the right bodies, which sheds a different light on the cross-dressing she refers to in her article. The Gazette staff couldn't help taking advantage of the opportunity to have a little fun and they were delighted to find Jeff Rose lined up outside the door with several members of his stable. OK, he was sleeping in the broom closet again, but we're not known for looking a gift horse in the mouth, even if he wears a fruit basket on his head. (The horse, not Jeff.)

On a more serious note, in order to test Linda's theories, I challenged Gabriel Orgrease and Tonya Judy to 'cross-dress' for us as authors in a Point-Counterpoint experience. They chose the subject Online-Offline and each attempted to write in the voice of the opposite gender. The results speak for themselves. (I suppose I should disclose here that adult language and themes exist in this feature.) Follow the links below, or the page link at the bottom.
